This collection of booklets explores pockets through a feminist lense. It includes two articles, one regarding women’s rights
and the other the use of that one small pocket we don’t really
know it’s for.

It was inspired by the collection of jeans which have been passed down to me from my Grandmother over the last few years. The first book ‘Pocket Politics’ cites an article on the history of pockets regarding women’s rights and independence.

It combines pink and green risographed printed pages, which
are stitched together by hand using a coptic binding method
with embroidery silks my Grandmother has given me.

The second book is an exploration of what that tiny pocket
we have on our jeans that we don’t really know what it’s for.
It’s a playful way of exploring a simple and almost useless
pocket. This hardback concertina is wrapped in paper,
and is held together by glue and saddle stitch binding
- again using my Grandma’s silks.
